New Zealand
I live in Christchurch, in the South Island of New Zealand. This country has been home for most of my adult life. I am a New Zealand citizen. I have a psychotherapy practice in Christchurch. This is a green and mountainous island in the South Pacific. It was inhabited by the Maori for about a thousand years and colonised by the British mid 19th Century. I came here from Australia in the 1960s because of the skiing and mountaineering and stayed on because I liked the life.
Psychotherapy has a solid history in Christchurch which was the city that founded the NZ Psychotherapy Association in the 1930's.
New Zealand is right at the start of the international time line and so we see the sun rise while the much of the world sleeps. This time difference is sometimes noticable to my clients on the other side of the world when posts arive at unusual times.
Of course, being in the southern hemisphere, it's winter in New Zealand when it's summer in the north and vice-versa.
